Family owned restaraunts have been around for quite a while, and could possible be some of the most successful businesses across the globe. Their unique styles and personal backgrounds are used to capture moments for other families to enjoy through delicious homeade dishes.

Gia's Pizzeria located in Austintown, Ohio is one of my favorite family owned restaurants, not only because I'm Italian, but because their food and atmosphere is so welcoming to all groups of people.

My family and I decided to go out on a Saturday night and have dinner to fill our stomachs for some intense mini golf afterwards. Gia's is owned by one of my dad's high school buddies, and has been opened since 2009, with the clever name coming from his firstborn daughter.

There is something for everyone at Gia's, because the menu has so many options and can be substituted which ever way you'd like (within reason).

As an appetizer, we tried the bocce balls, or meatballs doused in marinara sauce and sprinkles of Parmesan cheese. They were absolutely delicious and gone in a few minutes.

Since Gia's has a huge selection of pizza, I decide to try the potato pizza; the dough filled with potatoes, bacon, cheese, and ranch dressing. Talk about comfort food! It was super filling, and the crust was one of the best I've tasted in a while.

Potato pizza is one of my favorites, because it's unconventional. And it's always good to try something different every once in a while. I mean who would think to put potato on a pizza? It's a great food choice and will never be passed up by me, considering I love it every restaurant I've tried it at.

It it was a wonderful meal, and I loved seeing my family come together after a while and enjoying a dinner together with great conversation. Thank you Gia's!!!
